Taking your ID photo
Stand facing a window in daylight, with a plain, light-coloured wall behind you. Ask someone to hold the phone at your eye level, about an arm's length away — a selfie at arm's length distorts your face, so avoid it if you can.
Look straight at the camera with a neutral expression — eyes open, mouth closed. Your head and shoulders should fill the frame. No hats or sunglasses, and take glasses off if they catch the light. A head covering worn for religious belief is fine, as long as your face is visible from chin to forehead.
No filters, beauty modes or editing. Check the photo is sharp before you submit it — if you have to squint at it on your phone, it will not survive being printed on a card.
